TEACHER SUPPORT

Slide When you join Envision, you are joining a community where you can grow and develop as an educator. We provide teachers with the professional development and support they need to truly maximize their teaching craft. Our teachers work collaboratively and relentlessly to ensure that we are providing students and families with high-quality, equity-focused learning experiences that prepare them for college, career and life.

WHAT IT'S LIKE TO WORK HERE

METACOGNITIVE REFLECTION

Students and educators focus on authentic and cognitive-rich reflection.

COMMUNITY AND RESTORATIVE PEDAGOGY

Students and educators develop their skills in building and sustaining community.

DISCIPLINARY PEDAGOGY

Educators develop instructional planning and pedagogy toward essential competencies and standards within Professional Learning Communities.

CRITICAL PEDAGOGY

We will develop critical literacy and consciousness to align our anti-racist, pro-Black stance.

CREDENTIALING

All Envision teachers must hold the credential that is appropriate to the subject they are teaching, and that credential must be active and in good standing. In some cases, teachers who are in the process of obtaining a credential may apply to teach at Envision Education; however, they must be committed to going through all steps to be in compliance with all applicable credentialing laws as soon as possible.

Teachers who need to clear their credential can receive induction coaching and support at Envision. Induction is a two-year process in order for new teachers to clear their California credential. Teachers receive weekly support from a coach, who supports the teacher to assess their strengths and growth areas, create a goal they want to focus on, and collect evidence and present their growth at the end of the year.

SUPPORT FOR ALL TEACHERS

Envision knows that nothing has a greater impact on students than the quality of their teachers. That’s why we invest heavily in teacher support and development. This starts in August each year, when we welcome all new staff to our New Envisioner Professional Development sessions. After that, new and returning teachers and staff come together at school site PD meetings to prepare for the school year as a team. During the school year, our instructional coaches observe and provide regular feedback to both new and returning teachers, in collaboration and partnership.

Our teachers have ample time to develop strong relationships with their colleagues during weekly school site PD; they also collaborate network-wide in discipline-specific Professional Learning Communities, where they plan curriculum and analyze student work together. Looking for a close-knit community with a laser-focus on professional improvement, in service of students? Envision is a great fit for you!
