Katherine is City Arts & Tech’s 2019 winner of the Bob Lenz “PDO” Scholarship.
Katherine’s journey at CAT was not easy, as she faced countless academic, social, medical and personal challenges throughout high school. However, she took advantage of the challenges she met to grow from the adversities. What’s more, she dedicated herself to serving her family and her community, as she truly embodied CAT’s leadership skills and core values. She never failed to dream big and no matter what obstacles stood in her way, she kept her eyes on the prize. Next year she will be attending San Francisco State University to pursue a career in speech therapy, and there is not a doubt in our minds that she will excel in her future endeavors. Congratulations to Katherine Martinez, this year’s Bob Lenz PDO Scholarship award winner. She is an exemplary scholar who has shown true dedication and persistence to her academics through life’s major challenges.
