Hello Panther Families & Students and the Oakland Community,

We are Envision Academy! Home of the mighty Panthers!

Thank you families for your support so that ALL of our students could visit colleges in October.  Students showed our value of GROWTH when they lived on the college campus for the day, took tours, attended classes, ate at the dining area, and saw first hand what their experience could be like when they attend college.  Our students went to the following universities:

  • Middle Grades – California State University, East Bay
  • 9th Grade – University of California, Santa Cruz
  • 10th Grade – St. Mary’s College
  • 11th Grade – Berkeley City College & University of California, Berkeley
  • 12th Grade – San Francisco State University

Now we are in the college showing our value of DISCIPLINE as they assess and present their applications for university in the coming weeks.

As if that wasn’t enough, high school students have been visiting Career locations focused on the construction industry, hospitality, and IT sectors.  As a part of their Envision Academy education students leave with a set of experiences in digital graphics and coding so they are ready to use these in College, Career and Life.  Here our students live our value of JUSTICE as they evaluate the connection between who they are, what they expect from our society, and where they want to be or go.

Students are also participating in a vibrant school life with sports like: Women’s Volleyball, Men’s Soccer, Men & Women’s Basketball.  Students recently showed their school spirit as a part of Spirit week and Middle Grades students held a Halloween Dance to spook in the holiday season.  This is COMMUNITY, a value that unites us and celebrates our wins and losses with the goal to come back even stronger.

We are very proud of our 7th and 10th grade students for outperforming other schools in the A-Net network of schools in English and Math.  When we return from Thanksgiving Vacation, students will be taking their second Interim Assessment (IA) to show their learning and progress and for their teachers to refine their instruction.  A-Net assessments are designed for students to develop a RESPECT (the final EA value) for themselves as learners and leaders from Black and Brown communities.

Panther spirit, forever moving ahead!!

In community,

Thomas J. Kadelbach
