Envision Academy Teacher Briana Clarke explains how she lets her high school learning experiences guide the way she teachers.
“I remember my high school science being so formula driven. After the AP test, though, I couldn’t remember any of them. I could manipulate all the equations, but I didn’t know what any of them meant. So as a teacher, I use hands-on, visual-based and project-based learning – it allows students to understand and apply their learning a lot more. I built out my curriculum using PheT simulations, they’re amazing! There’s 50 or so out there. And for 20 of them, I built out lab worksheets to go alongside them. I’m hoping to get published soon.”
