Students of Envision is a series that hopes to give the reader a glimpse into the perspectives and realities of our students. Through these stories we aim to show that our kids have even more to offer this world than what they can accomplish in the classroom.
“I would say my biggest passion is to help people who are like me: people who come from the same background and struggles. I want to empower my community. The reason why this means so much to me is because I think about how much it could have helped me to see people that shared the same experiences as me doing great things. The power of representation is something I believe in, which is why I do things like poetry. It’s not just a chance for me to show my peers that there are positive outlets, but also an opportunity for me to help them learn from the things that I’ve been through.”
