WE PREPARE THE TEACHERS OF THE FUTURE
THE ENVISION TEACHER RESIDENCY
Joi Jiyu, Director of the Alder Teacher Residency for Envision Education
The Envision Teacher Residency program is the most effective way to turn your passion for supporting young people into a job you love.
“The coaching I received through the Residency has been really helpful in making me a better teacher, and helping me see things in my teaching I wouldn’t notice otherwise.”
– Resident
“Prior to the Residency program, I had very little coaching on how to directly be a mentor to student teachers. This program has helped me look at my own coaching as an extension of my craft as an educator.”
– Mentor
Our program is based on a residency model that combines immersive hands-on practice in the classroom with educational theory and research in both seminars and online. It takes place in partnership with K–12 schools in historically underserved communities, and 95% of our graduates obtain full-time teaching positions after completing the program.
In this residency year you will:
- Earn your Master’s Degree and Teaching Credential in one year.
- Apprentice four days a week with an expert teacher in your residency school.
- Learn within a cohort of peers with whom you will work (and laugh) with all year, paving the way to becoming lifelong friends and colleagues.
- Engage in critical conversations about diversity, equity, and inclusion with your mentor, instructors, and peers.
- Receive priority consideration for a full-time position upon completing the program.
Do all of this at a cost that is affordable and includes financial support.
In this proven successful program, you will:
- Build the real-world skills you need to show up for your students on day one.
- Work alongside an experienced classroom teacher in a high-quality, equity-focused school.
- Earn your master’s degree and teaching certificate in just one year.
- Get an inside track on working in a school committed to transforming the lives of its students.
