Envision Schools is looking for a Math Teacher for Envision Academy in Oakland

 

Based on a nationally recognized and award-winning model for secondary education, Envision Schools is hiring a 9/10th grade Math Teacher for Envision Academy, located in the beautiful historic YMCA building in downtown Oakland. Envision Schools is dedicated to helping students achieve personal and academic success by using proven best practices for teaching and learning.

• Understands and applies effective strategies and best practices to ensure student success

• Implements project, problem and/or inquiry-based instruction

• Provides active & rigorous experiences for students

• Plans for various student needs (including use of developmentally appropriate materials)

• Uses & integrates arts and technology in classroom and project instruction

• Demonstrates a clear commitment to growth in his/her professional practice

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree

• Valid California Teaching Credential in Mathematics, or out of state equivalent. District Interns will also be considered.

• Experience in an urban school is highly preferred.

Envision Academy is looking for a Boys Soccer Coach for this fall season in the Bay Area Charter School Athletic Conference.

 

Practices/games would be some days after school (school dismissal Mon - Tue 4:30, Wed. 12:35, Thur. 3:30, Fri. 2:30).

 

There is a coaching contract. Season runs roughly Sept. 1 - Nov. 19.

Envision Schools is looking for Substitute Teachers for the 2010-2011 School Year

Based on a nationally recognized and award-winning model for secondary education, Envision Schools is seeking Substitute Teachers for our schools in San Francisco, Oakland and Hayward. Envision Schools is dedicated to helping students achieve personal and academic success by using proven best practices for teaching and learning.

All Envision Schools are characterized by the three R's:
Rigorous
instruction that challenges students with high expectations.
Relevant
curriculum that motivates students by giving them the opportunity to apply classroom course work to real world experience (i.e., internships in 11th and 12th grade).
Meaningful relationships
to ensure that a caring adult is involved with every young person's learning experience and to enable teachers to personalize learning based on a student's unique needs.

 

We are looking for teachers and teachers-in-training to work as Substitute Teachers for our small schools. Applicants must be committed to working with urban youth and preferably have some teaching experience.

 

Minimum qualifications:

·   Bachelor’s Degree

·   Passing score on the CBEST
